Elevating Work Platforms (EWP) Course

This course provides people with the ability to assess and select suitable Elevating Work Platforms (EWP) as well as provide an understanding of legislative requirements. It will provide the skills and knowledge to work safely and competently in setting up, daily  maintenance and operation of various types of elevating work platforms on a construction or industrial site.

NZQA Unit Standards

Unit Standards in this course includes:

  • US 23966 Describe types of elevating work platforms (EWP’s), and legislative requirements for their use

Additional Unit Standards can be added in this course including:

  • US 23960 Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a scissor lift EWP
  • US 23961 Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a truck mounted EWP
  • US 23962 Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a self-propelled boom lift EWP
  • US 23963 Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a trailer mounted EWP
  • US 23964 Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a vertical lift EWP
  • US 23229 Use a safety harness for personal fall prevention when working at height

Course Requirements

Duration:

One day including assessment depending on student numbers and unit standards required

Refresher:

One day refresher courses are recommended every three years to update on changes to legislation and machinery.

Compulsory: 23966

Elective: 23960, 23961, 23962, 23963 & 23964

(Any two for a one day course. More than two becomes a two day course – price on inquiry)

Price for one day and unit standards 23960, 23962 & 23966:
$440 +GST (same for ‘refresher’)

Venue:

Courses are delivered nationally on-site or at one of our specialist training facilities.

What to Bring:

You will need your Passport or Birth Certificate and PPE (Helmet, Harness, Hi Visibility, Steel caps etc what you normally wear at work) or we can supply most gear.
