Goleman Training Limited delivers a Skills Programme of Industry Training for the New Zealand Certificate of Industrial Rope Access Level 3.
Learning is a blend between theory and practice. In the theory component of your course you will complete units that will help you to develop the knowledge you need to work as a Rope Access Technician. Your on-the-job training will equip you with the practical experience required to succeed and work proficiently and safely across a range of industries.
Attendees having successfully completed The New Zealand Certificate in Industrial Rope Access (Level 3) will attain basic on-rope vertical skills using constructed anchors. Graduates will be able to work with limited supervision, setting up industrial rope access systems to work safely at height or in places with difficult access.
This qualification is the first step in the New Zealand industrial rope access qualification pathway. It will prepare the candidate for entry into the New Zealand Certificate in Industrial Rope Access (Level 4).
Prepare rope access equipment for work, and report equipment faults.
Set up and dismantle basic industrial rope access systems and carry out elementary on-rope skills.
Comprehend and act on instructions, and communicate within a team when setting up industrial rope access systems, and complete basic workplace documentation.
Identify and adhere to health and safety requirements when using ropes and associated equipment to gain access to and from, and be suspended at, work sites.
Maintain personal safety while working at heights and set up and use fall arrest systems.
Carry out recovery.
Unit standard credits are registered with the NZQA.
Graduates receive a New Zealand Certificate in Industrial Rope Access (Level 3).
Current workplace first aid certificate covering unit standards 26551, 26552 (or equivalent).
Be in employment and engaging with rope work related to the scope of the programme.
Attendees must have a reasonable level of written and oral English equivalent to NCEA level 1. It is the responsibility of the attendee or person authorised and responsible for making the booking to disclose any English language support needs.

Maximum weight for a harness is 135 kilograms.

Attendees may bring their own harness. These will be inspected by the instructor and approved prior to being allowed to use it.
