Rope Access Course Outline

Graduates of the National Certificate in Industrial Rope Access (Elementary Rope Skills) (Level 3) will have the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to be a productive and versatile member of an industrial rope access team using vertical rope access techniques. They will be capable of working autonomously with rope access equipment with which they are familiar.

Graduates of the National Certificate in Industrial Rope Access (Working on Ropes) (Level 4) will be equipped with the skills, knowledge and experience to be a productive and versatile member of an industrial rope access team and also a team leader if required. They will be capable of working with a wide variety of equipment and will be competent and responsible enough to make informed decisions as to the suitability and application of unfamiliar equipment in both familiar and unfamiliar situations.

Course Requirements

Venue:

Auckland Campus: 92 Ascot Road, Airport Oaks, Auckland
Wellington Venue: Hangdod Adventures, 453 Hutt Road, Alicetown, Lower Hutt
Christchurch Campus: Sullivan Ave, Opawa, Christchurch

What to Bring:

You will need your Passport or Birth Certificate and PPE (Helmet, Harness, Hi Visibility, Steel caps etc what you normally wear at work) or we can supply most gear.

Level 3

This qualification is offered as a part-time programme over a 12 month period, delivered via a series of block courses. There will be approximately 20% classroom learning and 75% practical training. Classroom activities will be interactive and scenario based to aid transfer of learning into the workplace.

Level 4

This qualification is offered as a part-time programme over a 24 month period, delivered via a series of block courses. There will be approximately 40% classroom learning and 60% practical training. Classroom activities will be interactive and scenario based to aid transfer of learning into the workplace.
